Our proprietary "safety" split flange
Estrella developed and patented the safety split flange in 1997.
Today the safety split flange is standard in the Estrella program and has become state of the art within our industry. Its advantages have been proven in thousands of installations; including leak prevention, ease of handling and enhanced flange integrity.
Experienced professional fitters appreciate additional time savings as well as the security improvement during and after installation.
One major development has been the addition of a connecting sleeve. So that the pre-assembled two parts form a stable hinge which can be easily fitted and precisely cantered on the collar of the glass lined item.
One additional improvement has been the optimisation of the flange thickness to obtain, whatever kind of gasket is used( PTFE jacketed, modified full PTFE or expanded PTFE), with a compression of 15-20 N/mm2, a solid and tight connection which, due to its own flexibility, gives some restoring force and ensures long time tightness.
